-
Seattle University, B.S. - Biology; B.A. Sociology
Elena graduated from Seattle University School of Law Seattle, WA. Prior to law school, she had a rewarding career in health care, but she chose to pursue a legal career because she felt she had more to offer her community.
While at Seattle University School of Law, Elena worked for the Ronald A. Peterson Law Clinic as a legal intern, primarily representing formerly incarcerated parents with their dependency cases. It was through these experiences that she developed a love for advocating on behalf on individuals with limited means and difficult cases, as her clients navigated through the difficult and confusing bureaucracy of government agencies.
In addition to her experiences with dependency cases, Elena has first-hand experience in the difficult, confusing, and emotionally draining legal proceedings that involve the care and custody of children. She is passionate about helping families through the process and keeping parents involved in the lives of their children after the dust of litigation has settled. She is especially passionate about the rights of victims of domestic violence and the rights of unmarried fathers, as those individuals often face the most difficult uphill battles to happy resolutions.
Elena lives in Seattle with her family. When she is not advocating on behalf of her clients, she enjoys spending time with her family, working on home improvement projects, and traveling to new and exciting places. She summited Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania to celebrate her birthday in 2013.
