  • Childhaven: This organization focuses on preventing child abuse and neglect through early intervention and family support services. They offer programs for families with young children, including home visiting and parent education.

  • The YMCA of Greater Seattle: The YMCA offers various programs for families, including parenting classes and support groups. Some YMCAs may also have programs specifically addressing child abuse prevention.

  • King County Department of Community and Human Services (DCHS): DCHS provides a range of services for families, including resources related to child welfare and family support. Their website can be a good starting point for finding local resources.

  • Washington State Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF): DCYF is the state agency responsible for child welfare. Their website provides information about child abuse and neglect, as well as resources for families.

  • Washington State Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS): Diversion Cash Assistance (DCA) offers short-term cash support for families who prefer not to use the federal Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF) program.  

  • National Sexual Assault Hotline: 1-800-656-HOPE. This hotline provides confidential support and resources for survivors of sexual assault, including children.
